Graphic Design Intern — Events & Brand Experiences

DesignRemoteInternMonday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM IST

The brief

About this internship

SHOWMAKER is a corporate events and brand-experience company. We design rooms people walk into, stages leaders stand on, and moments teams remember. This internship sits inside that work — not on the sidelines.

You will design for live corporate events: annual days, leadership summits, sales kick-offs, offsites, and employee-engagement programmes.

The work has to look premium on a laptop and hold up on a 40-foot LED wall.

What you will do

You will support event creative from first concept to files that production teams can actually use. Seniors set direction. You own the craft, the details, and the revisions.

Event assets

These are the pieces guests see in the room.

  • Stage backdrop concepts and LED wall artwork (safe zones, resolution, readability from distance).

  • Entrance arches, photo-ops, registration desks, and wayfinding.

  • Standee, banner, and poster layouts for venues and campus activations.

  • Name tents, table toppers, menu cards, and other on-ground print pieces.

  • Invitation and save-the-date look-and-feel that matches the live set.

Digital

These are the pieces that travel before and after the event.

  • Event announcement graphics, email headers, and social cut-downs.

  • Agenda / run-of-show slides and presenter-friendly title frames.

  • Recap carousels, highlight covers, and simple motion-ready layouts.

  • Consistent typography, colour, and spacing across every touchpoint.

Production artwork

This is where intern work becomes real. Files must be clean, labelled, and vendor-ready.

  • Print-ready PDFs with bleed, crop marks, and correct colour mode.

  • LED / mapping exports at the sizes production asks for — not “whatever looked fine on screen.”

  • Layered source files (PSD / AI) organised enough for a teammate to pick up at 11 PM.

  • Version control: v1, v2, final, final-final — named like an adult.

How we work

This is a remote internship with clear hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM IST. Event weeks can mean tighter review cycles. You will present work, take notes, and come back stronger — not quieter.

Use the Apply button on this page to submit your portfolio and application. That is the only channel we use to start the conversation.

Who we're looking for

Must have

  • A portfolio we can open — Behance, Google Drive, or a personal site — with 3–5 pieces you are proud of.
  • Working skill in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (Figma is welcome; it is not a substitute for print/LED files).
  • Respect for typography, alignment, hierarchy, and white space. Pretty without structure is not enough.
  • Ability to take feedback without collapsing or arguing for every pixel.
  • Clear written English and reliable daily communication on a remote team.
  • Availability for Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM IST for the internship period.

Good to have

  • Any work for stages, fests, conferences, theatre, or large-format print.
  • After Effects or simple motion (loops, lower-thirds, stings).
  • Comfort with production language: bleed, DPI, RGB vs CMYK, pixel pitch, safe area.
  • A point of view on colour, type pairings, and brand systems — not only one-off posters.

Who will enjoy this

  • People who want to see their designs built, lit, and photographed — not only posted.
  • Designers who like constraints: stage width, CEO sightline, vendor deadline, brand guidelines.
  • Interns who treat a checklist as craft: layers named, fonts outlined, exports checked twice.
  • Anyone excited by corporate theatre — annual days, summits, awards nights — at a high polish bar.

What we do not want

  • Wallpaper collages, unlicensed fonts, and AI dumps with no layout thinking.
  • “I only do Instagram” when the brief is a 16:9 LED wall and a 6×8 ft standee.
  • Vanishing during revision rounds or event week.
  • An internship treated as a line on a résumé rather than a body of shipped work.

First practical challenge

Shortlisted candidates receive a real-world-style brief — for example a leadership-summit theme, stage size, and brand colours.

You will return:

  • One stage-backdrop concept (composition, type, and how it reads from the back of the hall).
  • One matching digital invitation or announcement graphic.
  • A few lines of production notes (sizes, safe zones, what must not be cropped).

We are looking for taste, clarity, and follow-through — not a 40-slide presentation.

Growth & why join

What you will learn

  • How event branding actually scales: from a key visual to every printed and digital surface.
  • How to design for distance, light, and motion — not only for a Figma frame.
  • Production hygiene that vendors and senior designers trust.
  • How creative reviews work in a live-events company: brief, options, lock, deliver.
  • A portfolio of work that existed in a real room, in front of real people.

Growth path

We hire interns we can grow. Performance, taste, and reliability decide the pace — not tenure theatre.

  1. Graphic Design Intern — learn the system, ship event assets, take notes like a professional.
  2. Event Graphic Designer — own workstreams on live programmes with light supervision.
  3. Senior Event Graphic Designer — lead looks, mentor juniors, protect quality under time pressure.
  4. Creative / Art Lead — set visual direction across a programme and hold the brand.
  5. Head of Event Creative — own SHOWMAKER’s event-design language end to end.

Why join SHOWMAKER

  • Live work, not mock work. Your files go to print, LED, and the stage.
  • Remote, with real hours. Structure beats “whenever you feel inspired.”
  • Mentorship from people who still design and deliver events — not a slide deck about creativity.
  • A craft people photograph. Corporate events deserve the same care as consumer experiences. That is our standard.

The mindset we hire for

“I want to see my designs come alive — on stage, at the entrance, on the LED, in the room.”

If that sentence feels like you, apply. If you only want likes on a grid, this will feel like the wrong room.

How to apply

Click Apply on this careers page. Attach your résumé and a portfolio link (Behance, Drive, or site) with 3–5 proud pieces, plus a short note on why event design. We review applications here first — that is the professional path.
